Thomson Reuters puts 'For Sale' sign on three trade publications

Thomson Reuters is looking to sell three publications that cover the worlds of private equity and venture capital.

They are Reuters peHUB, Buyouts and Venture Capital Journal. Reuters peHUB is an online-only blog with an e-mail newsletter. Buyouts and Venture Capital Journal have print magazine and web components with annual subscriptions of more than $2,000.

The process is said to be at an early stage, according to a report in Reuters peHub, which cited two unidentified people. It said Bloomberg News could be among interested buyers.

A spokesman for Thomson Reuters, Lemuel Brewster, said: “As a matter of business course, Thomson Reuters routinely reviews its business portfolio in line with strategy and client needs. However, we do not comment on rumor or speculation about acquisitions or divestitures.” ■
