At David Betts' funeral: Mrs Moon's, Jaws and 'brownies'

The funeral went very well with Willie Fraser the local Dornoch Pipe Band pipe major playing us out with Highland Cathedral and A Hundred Pipers. He played David's bagpipes. The minister, The Rev'd Susan Brown, gave an excellent eulogy tying together David's family, his extended family and the Reuter family. She even mentioned Mrs Moon's, Jaws and "brownies"! It made us feel very proud of David regarding his expertise and high standards yet his gentle touch of teaching without preaching.

It has been a long day. I do not know how I got through it without the support of Lisa, Luke and Guy. Guy is Luke's friend since the days of Langley Park School, Beckenham. He came from France to be with us. Of course the biggest support was David. I firmly believe he is my guardian angel. I still look to him for advice. I just wish he were here to edit my copy. Enough. ■
