Jack Gee - one of the liveliest minds I ever encountered

I was privileged to know Jack Gee for over half a century. He had one of the liveliest minds I ever encountered. To be a freelance in Paris in the sixties was no easy task; the competition was formidable. That he could afford to buy a beautiful house in the South of France from the proceeds of his work is a financial indication of his success.

His second wife Beatrice was an enormous support to him in his later years when he was beset by illness. I shall always treasure the memory of my last dinner with them last year in their Paris flat. Throughout the evening Jack struggled to his computer to check some topic which had come up in the conversation; he was indefatigable. ■
