James Smith's vision

I was a part of Reuters from 1988-1995. When I started, the company was about acquisition and organic growth, under the leadership of Glen Renfrew. Those were good days: lots of new product, lots of innovation. Under Peter Job, the company started a long slide into mediocrity, ending with Tom Glocer and Devin Wenig’s big deal.

I’m back at Thomson Reuters now after 17 years, and I have to say I like this company and where it’s headed a lot more than the company I left. Catch up with me in a few years time, but I like the direction. Stay tuned. I think TR may be on to something [James Smith’s vision: Thomson Reuters 2.0]. ■
