John Morrison - a likeable and wise colleague with a great sense of humour

John Morrison was not only wise and unflappable, he was as well very likeable and he had a great sense of humour. John’s humour came out, or flourished more, in his later years, particularly in his memorable send-up of Blair & Co, but he always had an eye for an amusing story. Indeed, he probably wrote one of the funniest one paragraph “brights” ever to appear on Reuters - about a Dutch vet who was struck off for professional misconduct by burning down a farm when he applied a blow torch to the rear end of a flatulent cow. John is the fourth of our 1971 intake of graduate trainees to go. ■
