Jeremy Penn elected pension fund trustee

Jeremy Penn (photo), head of the Baltic Exchange in London, has been elected a trustee of Reuters Supplementary Pension Scheme (SPS), smaller of the two Reuters UK final salary pension funds.

Penn is a former managing director of Reuters Asia. He succeeds Tony Winning, former correspondent and editor, who had been a member-nominated trustee (MNT) for the past five years.

Penn received 47 votes in the month-long ballot conducted by Electoral Reform Services. Winning gained 34 votes. The third candidate in the ballot, Reuters Pension Fund MNT Geoffrey Sanderson, received 29 votes. Of the 188 SPS members eligible to take part in the election, 110 or 58.5 per cent voted. ■
