Chairman David Thomson's net worth: $50 billion

Thomson Reuters chairman David Thomson (photo), is worth $50 billion making him one of the world’s richest people, according to Market Realist.

A large part of his wealth is said to have come from his involvement with the investment firm Woodbridge, which plays an important role in managing the Thomson family fortune, the New York-based website said.

Thomson, 66, has seven children with four partners. He is known for collecting fine art. ■
