Dayan Candappa joins International Business Times

Dayan Candappa (photo), who left Reuters suddenly in February, is to be global editor-in-chief of International Business Times, a digital publication.

The agency's former Americas region editor will be based in New York and will report directly to co-founder and chief content officer Johnathan Davis who said Candappa brought a world of newsroom experience.

He replaces Peter Goodman, who resigned earlier this year and is now at The New York Times.

No explanation was given for the abrupt departure of Candappa, who left Reuters without notice or public explanation. At a meeting with editorial staff, editor-in-chief Stephen Adler refused to answer questions about the reason for Candappa’s exit. ■
