The young daughter of Nazanin Zaghari-Ratcliffe will return to Britain by Christmas to start school in London leaving her mother in jail without their weekly visits.

Her family told The Times they agreed after months of agonising that Gabriella, five, should return to start the school year in September but postponed the decision after Mrs Zaghari-Ratcliffe was taken in chains to a psychiatric hospital in the custody of Iran’s Revolutionary Guard. She was returned to prison after a week but not permitted phone calls with her husband, Richard, in London or visits from her daughter.
