Wanted: stringers in Paris in Frankfurt

I recently started at The Straits Times in Singapore as an assistant foreign editor. Mostly editing and production but some writing, too.

The foreign editor, Audrey Quek, is looking for experienced reporters who can string from either Paris or Frankfurt (ideally two stringers, one in each location). Focus is big general news and business stories with some human interest/lifestyle as well. Payment is £220 to £250 per article.

She’s looking for experienced reporters who can write well and write to deadlines. Typical news story length for the paper is about 600 words. Features, about 1,000 words, analyses, about 750 words. As a rule, we always send back edited versions to the correspondent for final checks before publication.

Someone from a wire would be great, since they should be able to write quickly and succinctly.

Are any ex-Reuters colleagues looking to earn some extra cash? If so, get in touch with Audrey Quek or me. ■
