Thomson family sells TRI shares for C$26 million

Thomson Reuters majority owner Woodbridge, investment vehicle of chairman David Thomson (photo) and his family, sold 540,000 shares of the company's stock for a total of C$26,233,200.

Average price per share in Thursday's transaction was C$48.58.

TRI shares traded slightly higher on the Toronto Stock Exchange on Friday at C$49.22. Their 52-week range is C$37.24 to C$53.00.

Thomson Reuters shares were also higher at $40.97 on the New York Stock Exchange where their 52-week range is $34.07 to $42.64.

Among 20 analysts following the stock, two rate TRI Buy, three Outperform and 15 Hold.

The company recently declared a quarterly dividend of $0.335 per share which will be paid on 15 June to investors of record on 21 May. ■
