Allan and Sergeant Bilko

The Sarge, I believe, was named after the American TV character Sergeant Bilko played by Phil Silvers. I saw Silvers in "Cover Girl" with Rita Hayworth and Fred Astaire on TV just before Christmas and I thought I was seeing Allan on the screen. Like Bilko, Allan Barker will long live in the memory of those who knew him. ■
