Appointment from Mexico

It was good to hear that Rick Norsworthy enjoyed his posting in Singapore because he had a secretary to make his phone calls. I knew about his appointment as editor, Asian Services in 1973 before he did. I transmitted it to London for Kevin Garry, the staff manager, who was visiting Mexico City. 

Knowing Rick, I happily sent off Kevin's message. It was one of the wiser decisions made by the staff department which once posted a Mandarin speaker I knew to Nigeria. ■
