Bill was someone you were always glad to see, and who made you smile and laugh whenever you met him. You always came away from a meeting with Bill feeling sunnier. At work you knew that you could rely on Bill for clear, sensible advice and help, laced with pithy comments on the latest nonsense he was having to deal with. A great character. I shall miss him. ■
