My best move

As chief correspondent Singapore in the late 1980s I pirated Reginald Chua from the Singapore Broadcasting Corp.

It turned out to be my best move in a 40-year career with Reuters. He impressed with his talent, hard work and decency.

As Gina I reckon she will be more impressive. Her courage and resolve are inspiring.

I am proud to call her my friend. ■
