Peter Wade: Reliability, judgment and a calm approach to problem solving

I am very sorry to learn of the death of Peter Wade, with whom I worked together for about 20 years in the economic services. Apart from his proverbial reliability I appreciated his down-to-earth judgment and his calm approach to problem solving, for example, demonstrated during the drawn-out introduction of video-editing in the London newsrooms around 1980. As a humourless Pomeranian I always enjoyed his dry sense of humour. ■
