Rudi Saks - keeping harmony in regional relations

Rudi became a great friend, and not just a colleague at Reuters, when he ran the desk in New York and I was Financial Editor in London in the 1980s. I will always remember his great efforts to keep relations between the two centres on an even keel, his openness to ideas and, above all, his very dry sense of humour.  All his friends will be sincere when they say we really miss him. ■
