Tributes to Stephen Brown

I would like to thank the many Reuters people who have been in touch with us at Politico to express condolences on the death of Stephen Brown in March and to pay tribute to him.

I also wanted to draw the attention of Baron readers to some tributes we have published in recent weeks. In addition to the obituary by David M. Herszenhorn, we published an appreciation by Matthew Karnitschnig - a Reuters alumnus - and a selection of public tributes. Last week, Politico founding editor John F. Harris published a column on Stephen and newsroom leadership.

We also produced a podcast reflecting on Stephen and his career, put together by our executive producer Cristina Gonzalez and me.

We have passed along all the numerous condolences and tributes we received to Stephen’s family. They have now set up an email address for anyone who would like to send a message to them directly: tributesstephen@gmail.com.

We are still deeply saddened by Stephen’s death but the tributes, and affectionate recollections, have been a great comfort. Our thoughts remain above all with his family. ■
