Wesley Bocxe needs help

Mexico City-based freelance photographer Wesley Bocxe, who has worked with Reuters often over the years in Latin America and elsewhere, suffered a terrible tragedy in the recent earthquake. He was seriously injured when his apartment building collapsed. His wife Elizabeth Esguerra Rosas was killed. Their five-year-old daughter Amara was at school at the time and was not hurt, at least not physically. She is now staying with relatives but Wesley is in hospital with severe injuries and faces a series of operations.

Wesley first worked with Reuters covering the wars in Central America in the 1980s and became one of the most distinguished photographers of his generation, renowned for his courage.

He needs our help now as he and Amara try to rebuild their lives. Friends and colleagues have started a fund on GoFundMe - https://www.gofundme.com/4gloto8. Please donate if you can. ■
