Where's Harvey?

The “Harvey” John Woodhead is referring to is certainly me.

The occasion the “Burns night speaker” was talking about was not Moscow but Belgrade, probably about 1992.

This was during my life after Reuters. I met two pipers in the bar of the hotel nightclub. The pipers, members of a famous British regiment, had been performing for the British ambassador at a state dinner. After one or two drinks we thought it would be very nice if they could enliven the music being played in the nightclub. I persuaded the manager to allow them to appear in full uniform and play their bagpipes. They did and they were an instant success.

My yacht Guitar is not of wooden construction and, yes, we did sail around the world and are presently in Turkey.
