Thomson Reuters leadership 'working more closely together'

Thomson Reuters executive committee comprising the group's 16-strong leadership is working more closely together to align behind a new statement of purpose and corporate values recently outlined by CEO James Smith.

“As our company transforms into a true enterprise, we are making fundamental changes to the way we think and operate, and we’re working more closely together,” they said in a joint message to employees on Monday.

“We are moving away from operating as a portfolio of separate businesses to allow us to deliver the full power of our enterprise to our customers,” they said.

“We are grounding ourselves in a common purpose and set of values.

“We are simplifying - taking better advantage of our collective scale and eliminating complexity.

“And now more than ever, we are building an environment where innovation can thrive - exciting to our customers and riving our future growth.”

The executive committee said the theme of last month’s annual senior leadership conference was “Transformation Starts With Us” - a phrase they said was relevant to all no matter where they sat in the organisation, adding: “We each have a role to play in our company’s evolution.” ■
