Obituary: Bob Beattie

Originally from Selkirk, Bob was a doctor of nuclear physics from Sussex University. He joined Reuters in 1970. After a year in New York working on video editing he returned to London to join John Ransom’s product management group. His final job before he left the company in 1980 was as joint venture manager. He then became a management consultant. He was a keen golfer and cricketer and set up a Reuters cricket team during the 1970s.

The funeral is at Kingston Crematorium, Bonner Hill Road, Kingston KT1 3EZ at 1420 on Thursday 31 July and afterwards at 201 Richmond Road, Kingston KT2  5DD. Anyone wishing to attend should please let me know at phil.arnett@custinfoc.co.uk. ■
