Obituary: Bill Jenkins

He had worked in Hong Kong and later was European financial manager.

Well known as a traditional jazz trumpeter, in 1971 he formed the Downhome Jazz Band with whom he was still playing gigs this year. Reuters colleagues including the late Ian Holmes, head of UK Field Group, were among members of the band.

The funeral will be at Basildon Crematorium, Bowers Gifford, Essex at 2 pm on 15 September. ■
