Thomson Reuters 2015 Q4 and full year earnings forecast higher

Analysts expect Thomson Reuters to post fourth quarter earnings of $0.59 per share when it reports the latest figures before the market opens in New York on 11 February.

Nine analysts have given estimates for the group’s earnings, ranging from $0.55 to $0.61. Thomson Reuters posted earnings per share of $0.43 in the same fourth quarter last year, indicating a positive year-on-year growth rate of 37.2 per cent if the forecasts are correct.

According to broker Zacks, analysts expect Thomson Reuters will report full year earnings of $2.05 per share, with estimates ranging from $1.98 to $2.09. For the next fiscal year, analysts forecast earnings of $2.29 per share with EPS estimates ranging from $2.21 to $2.37. The figures are a mean average based on a survey of research analysts that follow Thomson Reuters.

The latest broker research report, by Bank of America on 7 January, cut TRI shares to Neutral from Buy and set a $40.00 price target for the stock. One research analyst has rated the stock Sell, nine say Hold and three have issued a Buy rating. The stock has an average rating of Hold and an average target price of $42.00.

On the New York Stock Exchange, TRI shares traded in the range $33.96 to $42.64 over the past 12 months. ■
