Après le déluge, Dinosaurs on the Seine

The Seine may have flooded its banks a few weeks ago, and several of those attending our lunch on the river were not too happy about referendum results in Britain but the Paris Dinosaurs had a great time in glorious weather with fabulous food aboard the good ship La Nouvelle Seine moored opposite Notre Dame Cathedral.

Whether they were celebrating Brexit, or drowning their sorrows about it, bottles of delicious cold white Bourgogne aligoté disappeared as if non-EU members would be banned from drinking it in the future.

We raised our glasses to the memory of recently-departed Dinosaur stalwart John Stephens, and wished better health and recovery to former Paris bureau chief Lionel Walsh, as well as to Mary and Rick Norsworthy, organisers of the annual Baron’s Bash in London.

Present were Meg Bortin, Kate Dourian, Claude Fillet, Paul Iredale, Martin Leeburn, Julian Nundy and wife Fabienne, Nick Parsons, Phil Wardle, Terry Williams and wife Yolande, organiser Bernard Edinger and wife Suzanne.
