'No talk' social gathering

The Reuter Society held its first “no talk” social gathering at St Bride’s Institute off Fleet Street. Due to an unfortunate  misunderstanding over dates, the scheduled speaker, writer Lesley Chamberlain, was unable to attend. In the absence of a talk, the bar was opened early in the evening and members put into practice the prime purpose of the Society: good fellowship. We hope Lesley will be able to speak at another Society meeting before long. ■
