A true eccentric

So sad to learn of the death of Dave Skinner. I worked with Dave in London, then again years later he was my deputy on the Hong Kong econ desk. A true eccentric and often seen striking a raised leg pose of a native archer, when not twirling a pen or his moustache. Yes, Chris Pizzey is spot on with my daughter’s nickname for him, Mumblyman. I can still see him pulling on his red braces at a do with his feet on the table, doing a Jerry Lee Lewis impersonation. It was a pleasure to know him and work with him. ■
