Arlott and Christmas karaoke

It’s difficult to add to the vignettes about Tim, who is such good company. I last saw him also in Kazakhstan some four years ago and he reminded me of Christmas in Tehran in 1979 where some revolutionaries ordered up a Christmas song; the Reuters/Visnews contingent including the two of us broke into a reluctant rendering of “We Three Kings”. Fortunately, this was not recorded. ■
