Brian Bain: Consummate professional

I worked with Brian in Washington in the early 1970s. He was the consummate professional, turning even the most complex story into bright, accessible text. His commitment to the story often meant he would work very long hours to ensure consistency as the copy flowed in from different journalists. His professionalism was widely recognised among his colleagues both at Reuters and wherever he worked subsequently, most notably in Asia. ■
