Come remember Michael Arkus

Please join us to celebrate the long, loving and zany life of our dear departed colleague, friend and family man, Michael Arkus.

We’ll meet on Thursday 29 September at 6 pm at Ryan’s Daughter, an old Upper East Side haunt of Michael’s where he would enjoy a pint while his children, Tally and Danny, would have a soda.

We’ll gather in the second floor private party room at Ryan’s Daughter, which is located at 350 E. 85th St., New York, NY. For those who can’t be there or who don’t want to brave the viral streams, please join us on Zoom (link below).

Some of Michael’s friends, colleagues and family, including Bernd Debusmann, Evelyn Leopold, and his daughter Tally, plan to speak about the ways Michael made his mark. The mic will be open after these initial comments.

Mike was rarely seen in the newsroom in anything more formal than a T-shirt, so come as you are, as he would have it.

Email any additional questions, etc to rememberingarkus@gmail.com

PS: If you join live on Zoom and wish to say a few words, let us know and we’ll make sure you speak. And for those who attend on Zoom and don’t want to speak live but do want to say something, or for those who won’t be there but would still like to share some words, please record your video comments and submit them to rememberingarkus@gmail.com. We’ll also send out a Zoom recording of the event for those who cannot attend at all or want to see a replay of what will surely be an extremely memorable soirée! ■
