Dave Goddard - finder of hidden angles

If there was a hidden angle buried in a story, trust Dave Goddard to dig it out. Sometimes he dug too deeply, offending a government or two. He was also an excellent travelling companion. We explored the Moscow subway system together during the 1980 Olympics when Reuter journalists went on strike and we suddenly found ourselves with more free time than we could ever imagine during an international sports event. ■
