Your excellent editorial [Will Reuters new editor bring change or more of the same] reminds me of the demise many years ago of the once great agency AP Dow Jones (APDJ). Under the influence of its part owner The Wall Street Journal it virtually abandoned hot news and went for magazine-type articles by WSJ hacks who didn’t understand the global news agency business - and lost the battle with Reuters who continued to be first and accurate.
These days I have several news apps on my mobile and Reuters is too often behind with breaking news. Google APDJ now and up comes a railway station in India. Beware. ■
