How long is an era?

Re: Another new era is beckoning at Thomson Reuters, would it be unfair to request that we start labelling eras retroactively, instead of announcing that they beckon? To qualify as an era, a phase needs to last longer than a lurch, and that’s something we can determine only after the event. ■
