Reuters accused of climate reporting bias

Ross Clark’s new book on climate change Not Zero says Reuters and other media outlets have signed up to Covering Climate Now (CCN), which seeks to outlaw balanced reporting on climate change. Clark says the New York-based organisation wants to eliminate any opposing views to the conventional wisdom, which accepts there is undoubtedly a climate emergency. The suggestion is that reporting on hurricanes should automatically be linked with phrases like “this comes at a time when human-induced climate change is consistently making storms more intense”, which of course isn’t backed up by the data.

CCN’s website says it offers “tips to help report all angles of the climate story”.

I haven’t followed Reuters reporting on climate science since my SciTech sojourn in the 90s, but Clark’s claims can’t be true, surely? ■
