Ernie's explanation of Reuters’ late ‘60s, early ‘70s move into the US doesn't jibe with what I was told at the time.

As one of the first wave of financial reporter hires, I was told the move was the result of AP-DJ’s move into Europe in competition with Reuters and Reuters felt it couldn't use a competitor as a source. ■
