Even in the darkest hours, Sylvia found time to include Ian's colleagues and friends. One morning she called me in the Quality Unit from the Lister Hospital just to say that he was in good form and I should try to get there as soon as possible. I found them going through his mail. It included a note about his company car. He said he'd put it aside "until I'm better". ■
