Reuters values

Today I had a chat with a former Reuters journalist who recently left the company after many years of service. My hair is still standing on end after hearing frightful tales of Editorial mismanagement, insensitivity, shoddy standards and cronyism. Is the Reuters that we knew, both as a news organization and a place to build a career, going to disappear forever under current management? Could its values and qualities be salvaged? Or would someone have to start it anew?
