Jerry Norton

Jerry Norton was a really nice man, a gentleman, and a darn fine journalist. I knew him when he was Bureau Chief in Singapore and ran a smooth, happy ship. Jerry was deceptive, hiding a strong and steely interior behind a lop-sided grin. Modest too - not many knew he fought in Vietnam and was awarded a Purple Heart. He was a stalwart of Reuters in Asia, a seasoned writer and reporter and a fine mentor for many a youngster. ■
