Rudi Saks - 'pit boss'

I had met Rudi Saks several times and known of his reputation for years before I was posted to work as news editor in New York. But I had to experience the “pit boss” in action to understand just what made him that legend of love and loathing, of admonishment and admiration. “Pit bull?” I wondered.
