Rudi: The new sheriff in town

When Rudi came in as the top honcho of the Reuters financial operation in New York he was much like Gary Cooper in the academy award-winning film High Noon. Unlike the film, he didn’t have to kill bandit Frank Miller; he had a far bigger task. He had to make Reuters number one in delivering financial news to the Wall Street community. That he did! There is no question Rudi was instrumental in taking Reuters to the top and, at the same time, making Reuters the most trusted financial organisation in the world. Like Coop, there will never be another like him. ■
