Sylvia Macdowall's amazing memory

Sylvia had an amazing memory for journalists like me whom she had met only briefly at some Reuter function but who had never worked alongside Ian or enjoyed their hospitality.

She was one of those Reuter wives - like Mary Kellett-Long - who were once a vital part of the team in many bureaux around the world.
