Words, words, and none of them mean anything

Mary Alice Vuicic, chief people officer, (what on earth is that, ed?) told staff. “...We need to put more energy towards cutting silos, driving cross-functional collaboration and creating clear accountability... Charting a path in a flatter organization where skills are changing rapidly requires a different approach... Overall, we are in a solid position and we have an opportunity to go from ‘good’ to ‘great’"...

Seriously? May I refer the honourable lady to the advice given by Winston Churchill to avoid "woolly phrases (that) are mere padding, which can be left out altogether or replaced by a single word..."

Edited version of what she said: “You told us we weren't listening to customers. We need to change or we'll go under."

No surprise there, then. ■
