Cairo bureau journalists begin 24-hour strike

Reuters Cairo bureau journalists began a strike on Thursday after the failure of negotiations on a new wage structure.

Nearly 50 journalists stopped work. They were joined by the head of the Egyptian Journalists Syndicate and two of the union’s board members.

The company notified subscribers that the Arabic service would not be available for 24 hours. ■
