First video editing system was well liked

The first video editing system to be used by Reuters London was known as the ESS1. I recall that it was well liked by the journalists and in 1980 was shipped to Moscow for the Olympics where it was still appreciated.

After Moscow it was shipped to Hong Kong and used there.

Perhaps someone else can recall what happened to it after this.

My contribution was to design and build an ESS patch panel, for its distribution and support, which was made from mahogany. Happy days? ■
