Another horseman, perhaps the greatest, rides off into the sunset. Condolences Vickie, and all of the Reuters people lucky enough to have worked with him. A great gift to spend time with this gruffly charming no-nonsense journo. This time of year he’d have been holding court in The Punch, sipping a blend with a drop of water, “to open it up”, quietly, deservedly celebrating another year of stories smoothly turned out, smartly phrased and always world class. A wee dram in Jack’s memory for all of us tonight everywhere! ■
