Reg Watts - a pivotal figure

This is very sad indeed. Reg was a pivotal figure in my early days with Reuters when I was reporting and desking for the commodities service in London.

He was the kindest boss you could hope to have, intensely knowledgeable, always good-humoured and ready with helpful advice and guidance.

I will treasure fond memories of working for him at 85 Fleet Street and in the old City office, as well as enjoying his company at social gatherings in later years. ■
