Most analysts rate TRI Hold

Thomson Reuters shares have been given a consensus rating of Hold from the 12 firms that cover the stock.

One investment analyst has rated the stock Sell, eight have issued a Hold rating and three have assigned a Buy rating to the company, AnalystRatingsNetwork.com reported.

The average one-year target price among brokerages that have issued ratings on the stock in the last year is $41.00.

Thomson Reuters shares traded on the New York Stock Exchange closed 1.04 per cent higher on Wednesday at $40.90. TRI has a 52-week trading range of $36.49 to $42.64. On the Toronto Stock Exchange, the shares were 0.39 per cent higher at C$53.93.

Thomson Reuters announced third quarter earnings last Friday of 52 cents per share, beating analysts’ consensus estimates of 49 cents by three cents. The company earned $2.98 billion during the quarter, compared with the consensus estimate of $3.03 billion. Quarterly revenue was down 4.1 per cent on a year-on-year basis. During the same quarter last year, the firm posted earnings per share of 45 cents.

Equities analysts expect Thomson Reuters will post $2.05 earnings per share for the current fiscal year.

The company’s next quarterly dividend of $0.335 will be paid on 15 December to stockholders of record on 19 November. ■
