'Reassuring constant' Ingrid Montbazet bows out

Ingrid Montbazet (photo), secretary, personal assistant and “reassuring constant” to a succession of editors in the London newsroom, retired on Thursday after more than 20 years with Reuters.

Mark Thompson, Europe, Middle East and Africa Managing editor, led the tributes at the Old Bank of England pub in Fleet Street with plaudits from afar from Barry Moody, Paul Holmes and others.

Thompson said she had been a “reassuring constant” in the Canary Wharf newsroom and a huge support during some trying circumstances.
